More and more high and medium-high clouds will move in from the west on Wednesday. In the east, some persistent fog or high fog patches will persist in the lowlands. From Salzburg to the mountains of Lower Austria, sunny weather conditions will often prevail. The wind will blow weakly from east to south. Early temperatures are minus 8 to minus 1 degrees, and daytime highs are minus 1 to plus 9 degrees.

Snow and rain
Fog or high fog will continue in the lowlands on Thursday. However, more and more clouds will gather from the west, and in Vorarlberg it will start to rain lightly in the morning hours. During the day, the precipitation will continue to spread, and in the afternoon, some rain is to be expected in the entire northern half of the country. Freezing rain is also to be expected in places. Snow will fall above 700 to 1300 m. In the south it will often remain dry, but here too clouds and persistent high fog will predominate in the basins. The wind will blow weakly from the southeast at first, turning to the west with the front and becoming brisk in places. Early temperatures minus 6 to plus 2 degrees, and daytime highs are 2 to 9 degrees.
During the first few hours on Friday, there will still be clouds left over from the night north of the main Alpine ridge and in the north and east. These will bring the last rain showers, especially in parts of Upper and Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland,, and southeastern Austria. The snow line will be between 800 and 1200 m above sea level. As the day progresses, however, the weather will calm down ,and the sun will appear more often. Further south, however, sunny weather may already prevail in the morning. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from south to west. Early temperatures of minus 4 to plus 2 degrees, daily highs of 5 to 11 degrees, warmest in the west of Austria.
